Game 1

Letters - Alphabet Connection

Set up
All cards are in play (55). Shuffle all cards. Choose a dealer.

The dealer gives everybody 5 cards and makes a stock from the rest of the cards.
The player next to the dealer (clock wise) starts the game by laying down a card.
The player may lay down all letters except the “A” or the “Z”. (In this example a “L”)
Than this player draws a card from the stock.

And it is the next players turn.

This player looks in his hands for a card that fits the “L” to make a alphabetical card line. There are only 2 cards that will fit the “L”. That's the “K” on the left site of the “L” or the “M” on the right side of the “L”. Alphabetical order.

If the player can not fit. The player has no “K” or “M” in hand the player starts a new alphabetical line on the table by placing a card letter from his hands on the table. ( in this example a “F”)

There are now 2 alphabetical lines on the table and 4 places to fit a letter.
The “K” can be placed on the left site of the “L” and the “M” can be placed on the right side of the “L”.
The “E” can be placed on the left site of the “F” and the “G” can be placed on the right side of the “F”.
Alphabetical order.

The player draws a card and place it in hand. By drawing a card the player ends his turn. The player may not do anything anymore.

It's the next players turn.

This player looks also in his cards in hand or he can fit a letter by the letters on the table and the player looks on the table or he can combine letters to make alphabetical lines. In the beginning of the game combines on the table are rare. Verder op in the game komt dit meer voor.

(In this example. The player can not combine on the table. The “L” and “F” do not fit and he can not fit a letter in hand by the letters on the table)

The player starts a new alphabetical line by placing a card on the table. The player places a letter on the table except the letter “A” or the letter “Z”. ( in this example a “H”)

There are now 3 alphabetical lines on the table and 6 places to fit a letter.

The “K” can be placed on the left site of the “L” and the “M” can be placed on the right side of the “L”.
The “E” can be placed on the left site of the “F” and the “G” can be placed on the right side of the “F”.
The “G” can be placed on the left site of the “H” and the “I” can be placed on the right side of the “H”.
All lines in alphabetical order.

(In this example. The player can combine letters on the table with the letter “G” in his hand)
(The player places the letter “G” from his hand on the table and combine the other two letters “F” and the “H” with it to a alphabetical line. “F” “G” “H”.

If the player can not play a other letter. Or combine letters on the table with letters on the table or in hand. The player draws new cards from the stock till he has 5 cards in hand. By touching a card or drawing a card from the stock he ends his turn.

It's the next players turn.

This player looks in his hands for a card that can fit the letters on the table or combine letters on the table to make a alphabetical card line. If the player can. He puts the letter on the table or combine the letters on the table with letters in his hand.

If the player can not fit. The player starts a new alphabetical line on the table by placing a card letter from his hands on the table. ( in this example a “D”)

There are now 3 alphabetical lines on the table and 6 places to fit a letter.
The “E” can be placed on the left site of the “F” and the “I” can be placed on the right side of the “H”.
The “K” can be placed on the left site of the “L” and the “M” can be placed on the right side of the “L”.
The “C” can be placed on the left site of the “D” and the “E” can be placed on the right side of the “D”.
All in alphabetical order.

The player draws a card and place it in hand. By drawing a card the player ends his turn. The player may not do anything anymore.

It's the next players turn.
(In this example this player can not fit a card in his hand with the cards on table. The player can also not combine letters on the table).

The player makes a new start of a alphabetic line by placing a new letter on the table.
(In this example a “Y”).

The player draws a card and place it in hand. By drawing a card the player ends his turn. The player may not do anything anymore.

It's the next players turn.

Now there are 5 letters in line in alphabetical order. “D” “E” “F” “G” and “H”. The player calls alphabetic line! And speaks out the letters of the line of 5: “D” “E” “F” “G” and “H” and put the five cards on a little stock with the highest + number on top. (In this example a “+1”).

The player places the little stock on his area face up. So every body can see how manny points the player has.

If the player can not play a other letter. Or combine letters on the table with letters on the table or in hand. The player draws new cards from the stock till he has 5 cards in hand. By touching the stock to draw a card from the stock he ends his turn.

It's the next players turn.
